When is a 1-week vinjeta worthwhile?
The 1-week vinjeta is the option most Slovenian motorway users reach for on a short holiday, a ski trip to the Julian Alps, a coastal weekend, or a brief transit journey through the country toward Croatia, Italy or Austria. It gives you unrestricted use of Slovenia's motorways (avtoceste) and expressways (hitre ceste) for seven consecutive days, which comfortably covers most short breaks without paying for cover you won't use.
How does the e-vinjeta's validity work?
Since Slovenia's vinjeta system became fully electronic, there's no physical sticker to place on your windscreen - the vignette is registered electronically against your vehicle's license plate number, and enforcement cameras check the plate rather than a sticker.
